A Safe Place to Do the Real Work.
Whether you’re working through a struggling marriage, fighting an addiction, or just trying to understand why you keep ending up in the same place, I’m here to help you figure it out, without judgment.
Meet Michael Everson
Michael Everson, MA, LPC, LAC
He’s known for being direct without being cold, and for creating a space where people don’t have to manage how they come across. For many of his clients, faith is a central part of who they are, and Michael integrates that into the work rather than setting it aside.
Michael is also a licensed clinical supervisor at Reformation Counseling Center, which means he’s not just doing this work — he’s helping train the next generation of counselors to do it well.
Who I Work With
You might be in the right place if…
Your marriage is in trouble
You're struggling with addiction
Whether it’s substances, alcohol, or sexual addiction, you’re tired of the cycle and ready to understand what’s underneath it.
Faith is important to you
You want a counselor who takes your beliefs seriously and can integrate them into the healing process, not work around them.
You're an older teen or young adult
You’re navigating identity, pressure, relationships, or family dynamics and could use a steady, non-judgmental space to process it all.
You're dealing with anxiety, depression, or trauma
You’ve been carrying something heavy for a while and you’re ready to start putting it down.
You're preparing for marriage
You and your partner want to start well, with honest conversations and a strong foundation before you say yes.
My Approach
How I Work
I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize the thought patterns that are keeping you stuck. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples, because most relationship conflict is really about disconnection and fear, not the surface issues. And I use Motivational Interviewing with clients working through addiction, because lasting change has to come from within, not from pressure.
I’m also trained in Family Systems approaches, Gestalt therapy, and Strength-Based work, and I pull from all of it depending on what’s most useful for the person in front of me.
If faith matters to you, it matters here too. Christian counseling isn’t about giving religious answers to clinical problems. It’s about honoring the whole person, including what you believe about who you are and why you’re here.
