Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate
You Do Not Have to Explain Yourself Here.
Crystal Galloway is a military veteran and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate who specializes in working with veterans, active-duty service members, first responders, and individuals carrying the kind of weight that most people cannot fully understand.
Meet CRYSTAL GALLOWAY
Crystal Galloway, MA, LPCC
Crystal Galloway is a military veteran with over 20 years of active service. During that time she served as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, Master Resilience Trainer, Casualty Assistance Officer, and Chaplain’s Assistant, sitting with people in some of the most difficult moments of a human life. That experience is what brought her to counseling, and it informs everything about how she works.
Crystal is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, supervised by Michael Everson, LPC. She works with veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders, as well as single parents, individuals navigating major life transitions, and parents of children with special needs.
Her approach is direct and practical. She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients understand what is driving the patterns in their life and build concrete tools for changing them. Crystal has extended hours including some evenings and weekends.
Who I Work With
You might be in the right place if…
You are a veteran or active-duty service member
You are a first responder
You are a single parent carrying it all
The mental load of doing it alone is real. Crystal works with single parents who are running on empty and need support that is practical, not just validating.
You are navigating a major life transition
A career change, a loss, a move, a relationship ending, or a chapter closing. When the ground shifts, it helps to have someone steady to think with.
You are the parent of a child with special needs
Advocating for your child is exhausting in ways that are hard to explain. Crystal offers support for parents who are giving everything and need somewhere to put the weight down.
You have tried therapy before and it did not work
Crystal’s direct, structured approach is built for people who found traditional talk therapy too passive. She works differently — and she will tell you so upfront.
My Approach
How I Work
I am not going to sit across from you and just reflect your words back at you. That is not useful, and you do not have time for it.
I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify the thought patterns that are keeping you stuck. I use Narrative Therapy because I believe the story you are telling yourself about your life matters enormously, and sometimes it needs to be rewritten. I bring Existential Therapy into the work when the questions are bigger than coping skills — when what you are really asking is about meaning, purpose, and what comes next.
I often give homework between sessions. Not busywork, but targeted practice that takes what we work through in the room and puts it to use in your actual life. Real change does not happen just in the therapy hour.
I work with a trauma-informed lens in every session, and I bring a culturally sensitive and multicultural perspective, particularly around military culture, service identity, and the transition out of that life.
If faith is important to you, it is welcome in the room. And if it is not, that is fine too.
